Mr. Rooter Plumbing names Franchisee of the Year

Mr. Rooter Plumbing named Brad and Amanda Sims of Mount Pleasant, Michigan, the company’s Franchisee of the Year. Mr. Rooter Plumbing also opened locations in Birmingham, Alabama; Williamsburg, Virginia; and Woburn, Massachusetts. The company is on track to open about 20 additional locations this year.
“Mr. Rooter is poised for a year of aggressive growth as we look to expand our presence in new and existing markets including New Orleans, Kansas City, Salt Lake City and Tulsa,” says Doyle James, president of Mr. Rooter Plumbing. “The tireless efforts of our corporate team and our franchisee’s commitment to the brand continue to propel us forward, and I look forward to seeing what this dynamic team can do in 2016. On behalf of the entire company, I’d also like to congratulate Brad and Amanda Sims on their Franchisee of the Year Award and the incredible success they achieved in 2015. The Sims, along with our entire network of franchise partners, uphold the highest level of customer service, and we thank them for their intrepid dedication to the communities they serve. ”
Brad and Amanda Sims became Mr. Rooter Plumbing franchisees nearly a decade ago when they purchased the Mount Pleasant, Michigan, market. Brad first became part of the Mr. Rooter family well before that, while working for the company as a technician. A results-driven industry veteran, Brad is an experienced business owner who’s taken his strong family values and turned them into franchise success. An industry leader in her own right, Amanda was named Mr. Rooter Plumbing’s Woman of the Year Award in 2014. The Sims have long been dedicated to creating a close-knit team that shares a common desire to create and maintain a family oriented culture, all while delivering exceptional service to clients, which helped them surpass $1.5 million in revenue in 2015.
“Amanda and I are honored to be named the 2015 Mr. Rooter Plumbing Franchisee of the Year,” Brad says. “Our success would not be possible without the phenomenal support from the corporate team, Mr. Rooter’s proprietary systems, guidance from our franchise consultants, and the loyalty of our large network of franchisees. We pledge to continue delivering the service our clients have come to know us for, and look forward to growing with this incredible brand for many years to come.”

Ranger Design receives Work Truck Show Innovation Award

Steve Milizia (left), regional sales manager, and Jay Crowie, product manager, of Ranger Design received The Work Truck Show 2016 Innovation Award for its Max View safety partition from Steve Carey, executive director, NTEA. The Innovation Award is presented by a panel of trade media editors and truck fleet managers. All products entered in The Work Truck Show 2016 New Product Spotlight or New Product Media Guide programs are eligible.

Max View is a safety partition with a top portion molded out of clear thermoformed ABS and polycarbonate to snugly fit Ford Transit Connect, Ram ProMaster City and Mercedes-Benz Metris cargo vans. The Max View partition’s see-through feature enhances cargo space visibility, reduces blind spots, permits more light into the cab and creates the feeling of a more wide-open, less claustrophobic cab space, according to the company. The product’s contoured design allows the seats to travel to the full back position, and its precision fit reduces drafts for improved cab climate control while reducing rattle noise.

“Innovation is a part of our business strategy, and continuous feedback from our distributor network helped guide us in our design of the Max View partition,” Milizia says. “We are extremely proud to be recognized for developing a product that helps satisfy what the industry is seeking — more efficiency and comfort in the performance of their everyday tasks.”

American Residential Services acquires Aspen Air, Atlas Trillo

American Residential Services (ARS), a Memphis, Tennessee-based privately held provider of heating, air conditioning and plumbing services, acquired Aspen Air and Atlas Trillo to further expand its national footprint.

ARS is entering the Boca Raton and Palm Beach area with Aspen Air Heating and Air Conditioning, a well-established 32-year-old HVAC business.

“We are thrilled to be joining the ARS team, who shares our goals of customer and employee satisfaction. We are looking forward to the opportunities for growth through this strategic partnership with ARS,” says Steve Maguire, Aspen Air’s president.

ARS has an extensive plumbing presence in the Bay Area, but with the acquisition of 62-year old Atlas Trillo, ARS will be adding HVAC services to its service offerings in this region.

“For many years, we’ve served residential and commercial customers and provided energy-efficient, environmentally safe heating and air conditioning solutions. We pride ourselves on customer satisfaction, which is at the center of the ARS philosophy,” says Andrew Trillo, president of Atlas Trillo.
