The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC) of New Jersey, with help from the Association of New Jersey Apprenticeship Coordinators (ANJAC) and the U.S. Department of Labor, has received approval to run its Plumbing and HVACR eLearning course for apprentices. The PHCC Educational Foundation has offered this course for quite some time nationwide, and New Jersey has recently approved the program as an online Related Technical Instruction (RTI) for plumbing & HVACR apprentices.

The PHCC Educational Foundation offers Plumbing and HVACR apprentice eLearning courses for apprentices who need a non-traditional method of receiving their apprenticeship-related instruction. This program is recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment & Training Administration, Office of Apprenticeship, as a reasonable option for apprentice training. Each course is the equivalent of one year of classroom instruction. On-the-job training must be coordinated with a participating employer.

The New Jersey PHCC believes we need to provide every opportunity to help get people back into the workforce. The online course allows students who don’t have available courses in their area or have hardships that prevent them from attending classes, finish their schooling and work toward becoming licensed contractors. The eLearning courses offer enhanced course quality and give students fast feedback on their performance.
