The massive volume of information provided by high-tech pipe inspection systems can be daunting to understand. Thankfully, there is a solution.

RIDGID’s SeeSnake CS65 Digital Reporting Monitor, on display at the 2016 Water & Wastewater Equipment, Treatment & Transport Show, helps give technicians access to that information to ensure it isn’t lost in translation.

“Today’s camera systems enable the technician to gather a large amount of reporting data,” says James McGregor, director of global marketing for RIDGID. “The digital reporting capability of the CS65 enables the technician to efficiently understand and disseminate that data quickly.”

The CS65 includes a 6.5-inch daylight display, one-touch recording, 1TB internal hard drive and an integrated keyboard. It is designed to enable fast, efficient documentation of inspection jobs, and provide professional multimedia reports that are automatically generated for every inspection. “Certainly the automation aspect of the system can be a huge time-saver,” says McGregor. “This is a fit for anyone doing heavy reporting with large amounts of documentation. The more information a technician can present to a customer, the better.”

The CS65 is equipped with ample storage, including direct recording to one or two USB drives, as well as to the built-in, user-replaceable hard drive for 1,000 hours of standard video recording, 10,000 hours of Autolog or thousands of photos. A water-resistant, built-in full keyboard makes it easy to add custom text overlay and annotate reports, while PhotoTalk combines audio commentary with a photo to create email-ready files that provide a brief inspection diagnosis. Simply import your inspections from your CS65 into SeeSnake HQ via USB stick. With HQ Software, users can edit, archive and deliver reports via print, DVD or online. At just under 10 pounds, the unit docks to the SeeSnake Max rM200 for all-in-one transport, and is compatible with all of RIDGID’s SeeSnake camera units.

“We looked at the other monitors out on the market, and none offered a full keyboard, so that’s something we built into this system,” says McGregor. “It’s a system that we feel is a great fit for the crowd at the WWETT Show. It offers ease of use and a lot of great features that technicians are looking for, but at a price point that smaller plumbing and drain cleaning operations can handle.”

RIDGID began selling the CS65 in early 2015, and based on a year of sales and feedback data, McGregor is enthused. “Our customers love it, and our sales staff loves selling it because its features speak for themselves,” he says. “We are also finding a good market in the oil and gas crowd, as the extra reporting features are needed there. With all the industry niches this unit hits, we’re having a hard time keeping them in stock.”

McGregor says the WWETT Show is always good for RIDGID, and that was no different in 2016. The company always brings a large crew of salespeople and technicians, and regularly entertains nice crowds of both potential buyers and those looking for more information on all the company’s wastewater-related products.

“It’s been nonstop customers this week, which is pretty typical for this show,” he says. “We always plan a lot of spring promotion around the products we highlight at this
show, and that’s exciting, too. A lot of people come to our booth looking to learn more about the new things we’re rolling out.”

As for 2017, McGregor says RIDGID is looking at ways to make its reporting monitors even more user-friendly, including adding Wi-Fi capability that will allow technicians to email information straight to a customer or back to the office. “Getting more accurate information quicker is the future of this industry,” he says. “We’re always looking at ways to do that.” 800/769-7743; www.ridgid.com.
