Liberty Pumps holds ground-breaking at new center

Liberty Pumps hosted a ground-breaking celebration at the site of its materials center in Bergen, New York. State and local partners as well as Liberty employees attended the event. The 107,000-square-foot expansion will provide additional warehousing and added manufacturing space. It is anticipated to support 30 additional jobs at the family- and employee-owned manufacturer. This will be the third expansion for the company since 2000. Upon completion, Liberty will have approximately 350,000 square feet of facilities at its corporate campus in New York.

Franklin Electric names new business unit directors

Franklin Electric announced personnel moves and additions within its water systems sales team. Travis Bradley has been promoted to business unit director of industrial and engineered systems. Filling Bradley’s previous position, Andrew Schwarze has joined the organization as business unit director of groundwater distributors. Both will be responsible for directing Franklin Electric’s product development, sales and support efforts throughout the United States and Canada.

Waterline Renewal Technologies acquires Pipe Lining Supply

Waterline Renewal Technologies completed the company’s acquisition of Pipe Lining Supply. The terms of the purchase were not disclosed. Founded in 2004, Pipe Lining Supply’s management team will continue to manage the company and assist Waterline Renewal Technologies with the integration. Pipe Lining Supply will maintain company-owned distribution centers in Anaheim, California, and Springfield, Missouri, and it will remain a supplier of sewer pipe rehabilitation equipment and materials while continuing to deliver training and customer service.

AHR Expo recognizes Franklin Electric with Plumbing Innovation Award

Franklin Electric announced that its Inline 1100 SpecPAK multipump pressure boosting system has been recognized with an AHR Expo Innovation Award. The awards, given annually across 10 industry categories, represent the most innovative products and technologies hitting the market in the coming year. The Top Product of the Year is selected from these 10 winners, and will be announced at the show Jan. 31 to Feb. 2 in Las Vegas.

Matco-Norca’s co-founder passes away

Dov Matz, co-founder of Matco-Norca, passed away on Nov. 8 after a two-year battle with Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. Matz, 76, is survived by his wife Elizabeth and daughters Nora and Melissa. He co-founded Matco-Norca in 1952 and spent most of his career leading the company. In 2018, Matz was acknowledged by the industries he served by being inducted into the PVF Hall of Fame. He retired from Matco-Norca that same year but would often stop by to catch up and see how the business was doing. 

Nicole Fournier

Oatey promotes Fournier to VP, retail business unit

Oatey promoted Nicole Fournier to vice president, retail business unit. With nearly 20 years of experience in marketing and sales strategy, Fournier joined Oatey in 2019 as part of its acquisition of Keeney Mfg., where she worked for nearly 15 years. During her tenure with Oatey and Keeney, Fournier has served in a variety of leadership positions supporting the retail business. Most recently, she served as Oatey’s director, retail channel, accountable for leading new product development; establishing product, brand and positioning strategies in the retail market space; and supporting the retail sales teams.

Viega unveils new tradeshow demo truck

Viega is bringing its tradeshow experience to customers across the country with a new and bigger demo truck. The new Viega Roadshow truck displays a complete line of Viega products, including the ProPress, MegaPress and PureFlow fittings, PureFlow tubing, as well as valves, radiant heating systems and marine fittings. The 30-foot vehicle has two slideouts, a folding stage to safely accommodate more visitors and an island for hands-on demonstration of Viega tools and products. The customized V8-powered Ford F-650 has been on the road since August. It will continue to travel throughout the continental United States, visiting distributors, tradeshows, construction sites and plumbing associations.
