The tagline for Rinnai’s SENSEI RX series is “Built for the PRO, by the PRO” and after looking at the upgrades, it’s easy to see why. These tankless powerhouses have been upgraded with a variety of features that make installation easier than ever for professional plumbers to sell, install and service what the company calls “the best-performing condensing tankless water heater Rinnai has ever made.”
Rinnai boosted the product’s adaptability by adding a gas valve that supports both natural gas and liquid propane. They have also developed a vent cap that allows the unit to be installed outdoors. Also, by using the Rinnai Central App, installers can set up the unit without removing the cover.
Smart Connect allows smartphones or tablets to speed setup and improve serviceability, while annual flushes are streamlined with the Quick Flush feature, with the unit even providing useful information on its display throughout the flushing process, with the ability to pause automatically if it doesn’t detect flow. SENSEI RX models feature exceptional efficiency with a UEF up to 0.98, made possible in large part thanks to updated heat exchangers. Smart Sense adaptive gas valve technology optimizes combustion for liquid or natural propane gas without the need for conversion kits. Sold separately, the Versa Vent cap for outdoor installations is also available and easily adapts to any SENSEI RX model.
The SENSEI RX lineup includes the SENSEI RXP with integrated recirculation using a four-speed pump selected for its efficient and quiet operation. This nearly silent pump is paired with a Smart-Circ controller that actually learns the hot water usage patterns in the house to provide optimal comfort. The compact unit checks in at a svelte 58 pounds, making it easier to move and mount. Its revamped cabinet is also easier to open for contractors.
