A work truck is more than just a vehicle for a plumbing contractor — it’s a mobile office, workshop and supply cabinet. With jobs ranging from new construction to residential replacement or repair, a plumber’s work truck or van has to safely carry the gear to be prepared. Step vans with shelves and bins make for an organized van for plumbers. But sometimes a large, cumbersome vehicle isn’t desired — especially on remote jobs. To answer that call, Morgan Olson recently launched the Kestrel Work Truck with enhanced flexibility for delivery and service solutions.
Named after the kestrel — a small but fierce falcon known for its precision and efficiency — this compact unit is smaller than Morgan Olson’s trademark step vans, yet built to the same standards in efficiency, safety and serviceability. Mounted on a single-cab Jeep Gladiator with a high-strength steel chassis, the truck offers maneuverability and durability for rural and off-road access.
“Many vocations appear to be seeking smaller applications for their delivery and service needs, and we are excited to present the Kestrel as a work truck solution,” says Joe Rudolph, vice president of sales and marketing at Morgan Olson. “As we continue to grow and expand our work truck product line into new vocations, the Kestrel presents limitless possibilities.”
The Kestrel work truck retains all the benefits Morgan Olson units are known for, with turnkey work truck features including customizable cargo access and management, availability in left- and right-hand drive and four-wheel drive, automotive cab comforts and enhanced essential safety features.
“The applications are not limited to work trucks; design and functionality included considerations from law enforcement, fire departments and other first-line responders as they seek a smaller, more fuel-efficient solution for increasing demands,” Rudolph says. “We believe all markets, domestic and international, can be served.”
The Jeep Gladiator, with its unique open-air design and off-road capabilities, serves as a capable work truck, particularly for those who need to haul gear and navigate challenging terrain. While it may not be the top choice for heavy-duty tasks like massive towing or construction work with large materials, according to Jeep, it excels in situations requiring a combination of utility and off-road prowess.
“Safety and serviceability were among our top priorities in developing the Kestrel,” Rudolph explains. “These latest technologies are supported by an existing service network.”
