The April issue of Plumber is out, featuring S&J Plumbing of Arlington Heights, Illinois. Owner Joe Fuentes was inspired to start his own company after listening to a talk from a business agent during a class in his time as a plumbing apprentice. This awakened something in Fuentes and he eventually set out on his own in 2016, walking away from a $120,000-a-year job as a union plumber. He spent $10,000 on a used service truck and set up shop in his garage. Today he oversees a staff of 15 employees.
