Out of this World Home Services owner Dave Smythe wants to be the first plumber to go to space. He’s had that dream for a while, which is evident when you just look at his company’s vans covered with a space-scene wrap, including a rocket ship flying around the moon. The company, based in Ottawa, Ontario, decided to go with that look as it went through a rebranding process in 2019, shifting its name from DS Plumbing to Out of This World Home Services. Smythe thought the former name was getting old and wasn’t interesting and engaging enough to grow the company to the point he wants. He always had the dream and ambition to go to space and to become the first plumber in space. Using that passion of his, the company incorporated it into the rebranding of the business. Jamie Smythe then came up with the new logo that represents the company’s excellence and Dave’s dream. The van pictured here is the newest in its fleet, a 2022 Highroof extended wheelbase Ram ProMaster. Signarama Ottawa installed the wrap for the plumbing company. On the inside, and on all the other company’s vans, the Milwaukee Tool packout storage systems are used. The company says because the system is so modular it allows them to set up a van to house materials and equipment for any of the services they deal in. The shelving system can be completely removed within 30 minutes if more space is needed. The company, which Dave Smythe co-owns with his wife Wendy, services the whole greater Ottawa area.
