Product spotlight essency water heaters exr d

The rule of thumb in the plumbing industry is an 8- to 12-year lifespan for most hot water heaters. But what if you could potentially triple that useful appliance life for your clients?

Essency Water Heaters recently launched an updated model designed to meet the evolving needs of homeowners and professionals looking for high-capacity, easy-to-install and longer-lasting hot water solutions. The EXR-D expands the EXR line’s versatility while providing high-capacity performance in a durable polymer tank, a 20-year warranty, and the plug-and-play convenience of little or no infrastructure upgrades.

“This expansion is about flexibility and continuous improvement,” says Scott Isaksen, national sales director at Essency. “Whether you’re outfitting a home with high hot water demands, looking for the convenience of remote monitoring and vacation mode for a seasonal home, or simply dealing with stubborn hard water conditions, the EXR-D is a product you should investigate — without sacrificing performance, ease-of-use or longevity.”

The EXR-D is an electric, high-demand water heater constructed from long-lasting polymers, which delivers a combination of performance, durability, and smart technology. A large volume tank with the ability to store a lot of energy, it is suitable for Demand Response Programs, allowing owners to voluntarily opt in to their local utility provider’s program, allowing energy savings and lower utility costs.

Its construction materials offer up to three times the lifespan of standard water heaters, while its high-capacity performance offers up to seven back-to-back showers. According to Isaksen, it is guaranteed not to corrode or rust, and its seamless installation capabilities are designed to require little or no infrastructure upgrades.

“The EXR-D is very similar to our traditional EXR unit which has had years of testing,” says Isaksen. “Knowing there is a market for these types of heaters, we saw the need to upgrade one to be Demand Response capable.”

According to Isaksen, the unit has received high marks from both contractors installing it, and from homeowners employing it in their homes.

“Contractors love the ease of installation, repairable design and the availability of the Essency Pro App,” he says. “Homeowners love the savings on utility bills, the long warranty period and its 80-gallon FHR capability.”
