This new 2022 Ford Transit cutaway with Knapheide KUV body has drawn a lot of attention for Joe Simpson Plumbing in Woodbury, Connecticut, according to owner Joe Simpson. Before getting this van he used a F-250 with open-top utility body, but found that materials would blow out the back or get wet and each door had to be locked individually, so he decided to make a change. The Ford Transit has small doors on the back to allow storage of 10-foot lengths of pipe and all compartments and doors lock with a key fob, keeping tools and materials dry and secure. Simpson bought the van from Litchfield Ford and the body was installed by Universal Truck. Sign Pro in Connecticut did the wrap. “I feel more comfortable parking it in parking lots knowing everything is locked and covered,” Simpson said. The van is also equipped with a large touch screen in the cab for stereo, maps, climate control and a backup camera. It has a switch inside the backdoor to turn on interior lights in the cargo area if needed at night. The six-cylinder engine and single rear wheels have no issues hauling all of his parts and equipment up and down the hilly terrain in the area. “This truck gets compliments everywhere I go and people come up to ask for a card,” Simpson said. “Best investment I’ve made in my business.” For more information on Joe Simpson Plumbing, go to www.joesimpsonplumbingct.com
