Rick Gage, vice president of sales at LMK Technologies, was named to the board of directors for the Midwest Society for Trenchless Technology (MSTT). The nonprofit organization was established in 1998 to promote trenchless technology education and its public benefits in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin.

“MSTT is dedicated to advancing the science and practice of trenchless technology through training, education and field demonstrations,” says Leonard Ingram, MSTT executive director. “Rick will be a wonderful advocate for our society, helping to spread the word and increase the visibility of this eco-friendly and cost-effective approach to repairing broken, cracked or worn out lateral sanitary sewer lines.”

Gage was officially named to the MSTT board of directors at the 2016 Annual Membership Meeting held at the NASTT No Dig Show in Dallas, Texas.

American Standard launches $7 million faucet marketing campaign

American Standard, in partnership with Minneapolis-based branding and advertising agency Solve, launched a $7 million faucet national marketing campaign. “The Life of Your Faucet” includes TV, radio, consumer and trade print, digital, paid social and in-showroom/digital video.

American Standard’s 2016 line of faucets includes new designs and fresh styles for the kitchen and bath. The collection is the work of a team led by Jean-Jacques L’Hénaff, vice president of design.

“We have transformed our approach to product design so our new products reflect the market’s desire for simple elegance and style,” she says.

“American Standard is known for durable, long-lasting products that raise the standard of daily living. And now we’re adding style to that list,” says Jeannette Long, vice president brand marketing, LIXIL Water Technology, Americas. “Our new faucet designs look beautiful and work beautifully, allowing consumers to complement a wide range of home decors.”

ServiceTitan receives Stevie Award for mobile 2.0 app

ServiceTitan, provider of cloud-based business management software for residential HVAC, plumbing and electrical services businesses, received a Bronze Stevie Award in the “Best Business App” category at the 14th Annual American Business Awards.

The app features an interactive pricebook, multi-option presentation mode, speech-to-text recognition, predictive search and technician dashboard.

“Making a business app that’s easy to use is not an easy thing to do. We have invested thousands of hours to create an app service technicians want to use because it makes their lives better, and we are thrilled our hard work is already receiving recognition from the business community,” says Vahe Kuzoyan, co-founder and chief product officer of ServiceTitan. “Using Mobile 2.0, techs save time, office teams save time and, ultimately, homeowners have a much better experience — we agree that that is an award-worthy outcome.”

The American Business Awards includes all organizations operating in the U.S.A. — public and private, for-profit and nonprofit, large and small. More than 250 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process.

“The judges were extremely impressed with the quality of entries we received this year. The competition was intense and every organization that has won should be proud,” says Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards.

TRIC Tools adds VE Group to sales team

Pipe bursting manufacturer TRIC Tools named Santiago Durango and his company VE Group to coordinate sales for the Southeast U.S. market. The VE Group began its association with TRIC in 2014 and represents the pipe bursting business in Mexico, Latin America and South America (excluding Brazil).

Santiago Durango and the VE Group have been involved in the trenchless industry for 10 years, taking the technology to South America and other regions around the world. Its work began in 2006, supporting a 70,000-foot pilot tube micro tunneling project in Bogota, Colombia.

The company has been instrumental in developing the technology in Ecuador, with the first 3-D inspection system; Mexico, supporting the first 72-inch-diameter CIPP project; Argentina, with 48-inch-diameter guided auger boring river crossing; Brazil with a 3,500-foot-long, 69-inch CIPP project; and Peru, with the largest pipe bursting project in South America.

It also supplied CCTV, pipe bursting and CIPP UV equipment, material and support to one of the largest trenchless technology projects in South America (Medellin, Colombia).

Uponor partners with Belkin International

Uponor Corp. partnered with Nelkin International to form Phyn, an intelligent water solution that protects family homes and businesses from leak damage, enables mindful conservation, and enhances household water usage with automated and anticipatory controls.

“Plumbing has essentially provided the same function for centuries,” says Bill Gray, president, Uponor North America. “And while it will continue to provide that essential function, we believe that real change is finally coming. We must find a better way to use our water more intelligently and with purpose.”

Chet Pipkin, founder and CEO of Belkin, says water is a precious and vital natural resource, but there has been a fundamental lack of technology dedicated to protecting and preserving it — especially for home users.

“With the creation of Phyn, we’re bringing water up to speed with the rest of the smart home, helping not only to protect consumers’ homes and wallets, but also do our part to solve the very real challenges facing our global water supply,” he says.
