EQ Series single-hole, deck-mounted faucets from Chicago Faucets feature user adjustable temperature control and on-demand IR detection for hands-free actuation and maximum water savings.

“We talked to the commercial marketplace to find out what was required in an electronic faucet. The EQ Series is the direct result of those conversations,” says John Fitzgerald, vice president of marketing for Chicago Faucets. “Plumbing professionals told us they needed user-adjustable water temperature control, installation simplicity, reliable operation, adaptability to varying usage, all in a product that’s tough enough for demanding public installations. And, of course, it has to be affordable.”

The EQ faucets with user-adjustable temperature control are available in two durable finishes, brushed nickel and polished chrome, and come in a choice of curved or high arc heavy-duty cast brass spouts. Vandal-resistant outlets with flow rates of 0.5 or 1.0 gpm are available.

Power supply options include battery, AC power, or a self-sustaining power system that uses the flow of water to power the faucet. EQ faucets have built-in intelligence for superior user detection. The EQ learns over time and adjusts for dependable performance. Plug-and-play installation reduces installation time to minutes. Modern design matches any public restroom décor. All components are made from recyclable materials. 847/803-5000; www.chicagofaucets.com.

Sloan Valve hybrid retrofit urinal

The Hybrid Retrofit Urinal from Sloan Valve Co. features Falcon WaterFree Technology. The urinal conserves nearly 100 percent of the water and can upgrade most existing flush urinals to high-performance Hybrid technology. The urinals do not require water after each use and are not dependent on users to flush. Instead, they utilize a flush system that automatically performs a full gallon flush through the housing and pipe system every 72 hours (about 102 gallons a year regardless of the users). The timed volume of water flushing through the system prevents hard scale buildup, while earning maximum LEED credits. 800/982-5839; www.sloan.com.

Here’s how it works:

General Pipe video inspection system with smartphone monitor

The Gen-Eye Prism video inspection system from General Pipe Cleaners enables a tablet or smartphone to monitor inspection work and record it.

A Wi-Fi transmitter inside the Prism sends video to a designated device up to 500 feet away.

The Prism Command Module weighs just 3 pounds and can be mounted securely on any Gen-Eye GL or POD reel. An expandable cradle on top of the unit safely supports a standard size tablet and easily adjusts for optimal viewing. Optional brackets for mini-tablets and smartphones are available.

The Prism offers all the features of full-size video inspection systems in a compact, fan-cooled package, including on-screen distance counter to track how much pushrod remains in the line, nine-page titler with full keyboard to add company and job information to videos, power port to keep the tablet or smartphone charged during inspections, date and time stamps, as well as LED dimmer control.

Complete systems feature a self-leveling color camera and 2-, 3- and 6-inch trap skids. Prism’s 512 Hz transmitter also permits camera tracking with General’s Hot Spot pipe locator. 800/245-6200; www.drainbrain.com.

Franklin Electric centrifugal close-coupled pumps

AG Series centrifugal close-coupled pumps from Franklin Electric are designed for challenging water transfer applications demanding efficiency in industrial, commercial and agricultural markets. The expanded series now includes 10 pump families covering the most popular hydraulic performance ranges with models from 3 through 75 hp, flow ratings from 50 through 2,000 gpm, and heads up to 300 feet. Each AG Series Pump is equipped with either a NEMA standard JM or JP motor for mechanical seal or packing gland configurations, both of which include a 416 stainless steel shaft sleeve for durability and ease of service.

Optimized via CAD modeling and simulation, the pump’s updated hydraulic design offers improved energy efficiency, enhanced durability and extended operating life in water applications such as irrigation, turf and landscape maintenance, crop and livestock watering, pressure boosting, wash down, water supply and treatment, and water recirculation. Its standardized mounting dimensions and plumbing connections provide a quick and easy retrofit. 260/824-2900; www.franklinwater.com.

Grundfos macerating pumps

The SOLOLIFT2 line of macerating pumps from Grundfos features five different models that include a 1/3 to 3/4 hp motor and new cutter design developed from heavy industrial systems.

The grinder collects and pumps wastewater and/or greywater through a narrow transfer pipe to a conventional sewer line up to a combination of 20 feet vertically or 328 feet horizontally. The range of domestic applications includes toilets (conventional and wall-hung), sinks, showers, washing machines and dishwashers.

The macerator’s sloping, self-clean design and modular construction permits fast and simple maintenance. A durable steel cutter handles all day-to-day objects while a temperature-resistant (up to 194 degrees F) interior ensures superior performance in demanding domestic applications. 800/921-7867; http://us.grundfos.com.

Envirosight cable-free inspection camera

The cable-free Quickview airHD camera from Envirosight captures high-definition video from sewers and transmits it wirelessly to a touchscreen tablet for live viewing. With the Quickview app installed, the tablet offers fingertip control of zoom, illumination and tilt, as well as image capture and video recording/playback/annotation/sharing.

At the heart of the system is an HD zoom camera with 30X optical zoom (plus 12X digital) paired with Envirosight’s Quad-Haloptic light engine. The camera is tuned to deliver maximum detail from within pipes. The light engine combines four offset LED/reflector pairs to surround the camera with powerful, focused illumination that is aligned for maximum range and optimum viewing at any distance.

The camera acts as an ad-hoc Wi-Fi network, allowing any device running the Quickview app to connect for full control, or as a view-only client. The camera is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Two batteries are supplied with each system to allow continuous operation on a swap-out basis.

The Quickview app, which offers all viewing and control functions, installs on iOS and Android tablets. With it, an operator can connect to the camera head to stream live HD video while controlling the camera’s zoom, focus, illumination intensity and tilt. Alternately, bystanders can connect in view-only mode to observe inspections in progress. Within the app, an operator can capture video and still images, organize them in the onboard library, review and annotate footage, and share results. Static and dynamic text (including camera tilt, GPS coordinates and illumination settings) can be overlaid on video. The app is easily updated as new feature enhancements become available. 866/936-8476; www.envirosight.com.
