Viega names Marki Huston as CEO

Viega has named Marki Huston as the permanent chief executive officer of Viega North America. Huston has served as interim CEO. Her previous roles include chief operating officer for Viega North America and vice president of global quality in the aerospace industry. In her expanded role, Huston will also join the Viega Group Board, further aligning North American operations with the broader strategic goals of the global organization.


HammerHead Trenchless acquires assets of ProKASRO Services USA

HammerHead Trenchless, a division of The Toro Company, has acquired the assets of ProKASRO Services USA, the distributor of ProKASRO Mechatronik GmbH. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. ProKASRO Services USA is known for its robotics, UV pipe lining solutions and lateral rehabilitation technologies. Based in Centennial, Colorado, its expanded line of trenchless solutions provide the ability to rehabilitate underground wastewater and water pipelines without the need for digging or disruption to outdoor environments.


SSPMA scholarship application open for 2025/2026 program

The Sump and Sewage Pump Manufacturers Association announced the opening of its 2025/2026 SSPMA Scholarship Program. This year’s program will award up to two scholarships for $2,500 each to students working toward an associate, bachelor’s, master’s degree or appropriate certification/trade associated with wastewater management. Applicants may apply online at sspma.org/scholarship by June 1. Formed in 1956, the SSPMA represents a majority of the manufacturers of sump, effluent and sewage pumps, together with component and accessory suppliers. Current SSPMA pump company members include Ashland Water Group, Champion Pump, Crane Pumps and Systems, Franklin Electric/Little Giant, Goulds Water Technology/Xylem, GP Enterprises, Liberty Pumps, Pentair Water, Power-Flo Pumps and Systems, Superior Pump Company, Wayne Water Systems and Zoeller Company.

This collaboration marks a step forward in showcasing and expanding access to the Magnavity SX LED pipe curing system, positioning it as a transformative solution for the trenchless repair industry. The formal launch of the pipe curing system took place at the 2025 WWETT Show in Indianapolis in February.

The celebration recognized the hard work and dedication of its employees while paying homage to the facility’s past and present milestones. Guests included the Lancaster mayor and several city council members.

J.C. Whitlam appoints Mark Whitlam as president

J.C. Whitlam Manufacturing has appointed Mark Whitlam as its new president. He represents the fourth generation of the Whitlam family, has been an integral part of the company since 1988. Whitlam holds a business degree from the University of Akron in Ohio. Over the years, he has held various leadership roles within the company, most recently serving as senior vice president of sales.

New chief human resources officer for Marcone Group named

St. Louis, Missouri-based Marcone Group, a North American distributor of appliance, HVAC, plumbing, commercial kitchen and pool and spa parts and equipment, announced today that Kate Sberna has been named chief human resources officer. In this new position, Sberna will oversee employment for Marcone’s team of 2,500. Most recently, she served as chief people officer for real estate investment company Venterra Realty. Prior to that, she was chief human resources officer at United Site Services.
